Former NBA player Chase Budinger has made a remarkable transition to the sport of volleyball. After a successful NBA career spanning eight seasons, Budinger turned his attention to beach volleyball, where he has emerged as a rising star.

Early Life and NBA Career

Born in La Mesa, California, Budinger was a standout basketball player from a young age. He attended Arizona State University, where he led the Sun Devils to the NCAA Tournament in 2009. The Detroit Pistons selected him in the second round of that year's NBA Draft. Budinger played for the Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers, and Phoenix Suns before retiring from the NBA in 2016.

Transition to Volleyball

After retiring from basketball, Budinger began exploring other athletic endeavors. He discovered a passion for beach volleyball and quickly established himself as a talented player. In 2019, he partnered with pro beach volleyball player Casey Patterson and qualified for the FIVB World Tour.

Success on the Sand

Budinger's transition to volleyball has been seamless. He has quickly become a respected player on the international circuit. In 2021, he and Patterson won their first FIVB World Tour gold medal at the Itapema Open in Brazil. Budinger is now ranked among the top beach volleyball players in the world.
