Fashion Sakala recalls Ibrox transfer decision

Fashion Sakala has revealed that Giovanni van Bronckhorst's presence was the key factor in his decision to move to Rangers.

The Zambian striker joined the Ibrox club from Belgian side Oostende in the summer and has quickly become a fans' favourite.

Sakala has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season, including a memorable hat-trick against Motherwell.

The 25-year-old has now revealed that Van Bronckhorst's reputation as a top coach was the main reason he decided to move to Glasgow.

"I knew that Rangers were a big club and I was really excited about the prospect of playing in front of their fans," Sakala told RangersTV.

"But the main reason I came here was because of Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

"I believe he is one of the best coaches in Europe and I am delighted to be working with him."

Sakala's decision to join Rangers has been vindicated, as the club have been in excellent form this season.

The Ibrox side are currently top of the Scottish Premiership and have also reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Sakala has played a big part in Rangers' success and he is now looking forward to helping the club win more trophies.

"I am really enjoying my time at Rangers," Sakala said.

"I am learning a lot from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and I am confident that we can achieve great things together."
